We provide bookkeeping, payroll processing, business formation support, registered agent services, and financial organization for small businesses. Our services focus on accurate reporting, compliance support, and organized financial systems — without CPA firm pricing.

2. Are you a CPA or law firm?

No. Proffitt A&M LLC provides administrative bookkeeping and compliance support services. We do not provide legal advice, tax advisory services, audit services, or investment advisory services. We are happy to collaborate with your CPA or attorney as needed.

3. Are you fully insured?

Yes. We carry Professional Liability (Errors & Omissions) and Cyber Liability insurance coverage to protect both your business and ours. Your financial information is handled with secure systems and professional safeguards.

4. How does pricing work?

We offer structured monthly packages based on business complexity and transaction volume. Onboarding fees are quoted after an initial consultation and are determined by account setup needs and historical review requirements. No hidden fees — all additional services are discussed and approved in advance.

5. What does the onboarding fee cover?

Onboarding includes accounting system setup, chart of accounts review, account integrations, payroll configuration (if applicable), workflow implementation, and initial financial structure alignment. It does not include ongoing monthly services or extensive historical cleanup beyond the agreed scope.

6. Do I have to sign a contract?

Yes. We require a signed Service Agreement prior to beginning work. This ensures clear expectations, defined scope, and mutual protection for both parties.

7. Is there a minimum commitment?

Yes. Our standard bookkeeping agreements require a minimum three-month term to ensure proper setup and stabilization of your financial systems.

8. Do you offer business formation services?

Yes. Our Business Starter Package includes LLC formation assistance, EIN registration support, operating agreement templates, compliance checklists, and accounting system setup guidance. We provide administrative support — not legal advice.

9. Do you act as a Registered Agent?

Yes. We offer registered agent services that include document receipt, secure forwarding, and courtesy annual compliance reminders. Registered agent services renew annually unless canceled in writing.

10. How do you handle payroll?

We process payroll through secure third-party platforms such as ADP. The business owner remains legally responsible for employee classification, approvals, and tax compliance. We handle the administrative processing based on the information provided.

11. What information do you need to get started?

We require business formation details, EIN confirmation, access to bank and accounting platforms, payroll information (if applicable), and signed agreements prior to beginning services.

12. Do you provide tax filing services?

No. We prepare and organize financial records but do not file tax returns unless separately contracted. We work alongside your tax professional to ensure your books are ready for filing.

13. What happens if my books are behind?

We will assess the condition of your books during your consultation. Catch-up or cleanup work is quoted separately based on the number of months behind and transaction volume.
